Maine U.S. Attorney: False Claims Act Lawsuits Filed Against Three Individuals for Fraudulently Obtaining Pandemic Relief Funds (10)
PORTLAND, Maine, Dec. 19 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Maine issued the following news release on Dec. 18, 2024:
U.S. Attorney Darcie N. McElwee today announced the filing of lawsuits against three individuals alleging they fraudulently applied for and received CARES Act pandemic relief funds:
* Jazmyn Paduani (Manchester, New Hampshire) is alleged to have fraudulently applied for, received, and received forgiveness for a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan.

N.H. U.S. Attorney: Massachusetts Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Distributing Methamphetamine (10)
CONCORD, New Hampshire, Dec. 19 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Hampshire issued the following news release:
A Methuen, Massachusetts man was sentenced to federal prison for distributing methamphetamine in New Hampshire, U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young announces.
Leuris Xavier Guerrero Valdez, 30, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Chief Judge Landya McCafferty to 72 months in federal prison and three years of supervised release for distribution of methamphetamine.
